Alison Tudor-Ackroyd is the Editor of FinanceAsia and has been a reporter for over a decade covering breaking financial news whilst based in Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, Paris, Milan and Rome.
Before joining FinanceAsia earlier this year, Alison was the Finance Correspondent covering Asia Pacific for The Wall Street Journal based in Hong Kong. She covered the expansion of financial institutions across the fast-growing but volatile region and the largest M&A deals of the time.
She joined the Journal in 2008 as the paper’s Tokyo-based Finance Correspondent where she wrote extensively about Japan Inc.'s efforts to break out of its moribund domestic market by buying overseas competitors, laid low by the Global Financial Crisis.
Prior to The Journal, Alison led Reuters’ international corporate finance team in Japan and private equity coverage of across the Asia Pacific region.
Alison grew up in England, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics from Durham University and La Luiss University, Rome. She has moderated discussions ranging from “Food Security” at a conference organized by Credit Suisse to “Regulation of Hedge Funds” organized by Data Explorers.
